The first American pope, born Robert Prevost and serving as head of the Catholic Church under the name Leo XIV, was dragged online by common sense voices after the absurdly wealthy and cloistered Papal head demanded the populations of first world nations be understanding of the plight of immigrants despite not leading by example.
For context, the woke pope has often gone on wild rants about how important it is, and how Christian it is, to love thy neighbors and multiculturalism, despite the trade-offs being increased crime, welfare abuse, and often direct religious conflict. As he says such things, he remains protected from any real harms by living safely behind the Vatican’s immense walls, even as he says the West must metaphorically tear down theirs.
“The drama of migration must serve as an appeal to the conscience of the nations of origin of the migrants, which must establish conditions for peace, justice and development. It is also an appeal to the conscience of the transit nations, which are called to protect the vulnerable and not leave them in the hands of criminal networks,” he began in a long post on X.
“It is likewise an appeal to the conscience of Europe, which cannot claim to uphold human dignity while growing accustomed to the Mediterranean and the Atlantic becoming unmarked graves, as well as that of the international community, which is called to effective and persevering cooperation,” he continued.
“Every boat that arrives brings a question along with the migrants: what kind of world have we built, if so many brothers and sisters must risk death to seek life? Human dignity demands legal and safe pathways, rescue and assistance, real cooperation against traffickers, effective protection for victims, serious processes of reception and integration, and policies that allow every person to live with dignity in their own land. We cannot grow accustomed to counting the dead. Human dignity has no passport and does not lose its value when crossing a border,” he added in a second post immediately after.
“While there is a right to seek refuge when life is threatened, there is also the right not to have to migrate: the right to remain in one’s own home without hunger, war, persecution, violence, the land becoming uninhabitable, corruption stealing the bread from the poor, or weapons destroying the future of children,” he finished.
Immediately replies from popular accounts on X blasted him for the hypocrisy. “Open the Vatican to the migrants. Leo, Tear down that wall!” wrote Cernovich. “Open Vatican City and take in ALL the migrants. Feed them, clothe them and shelter them with the billions from your church. Words are not good enough, You must lead the way by example,” said another account
“Your own inaction condemns you. I invite you to listen to your own conscience. The Catholic church has tens of billions of dollars at its disposal, and almost 200 million acres of land. I invite you to house these rapists and criminals on your own land,” said Fugitive Caesar.
