Speaking in a video posted to Instagram, former MLB Star Darryl Strawberry delivered a sincere message of thanks to all of those who helped him heal from a heart attack two weeks ago by petitioning the Lord with their prayers and buying his spirits with their kindness. He used the opportunity to highlight God’s grace and speak about prayer.

As background, Mr. Strawberry suffered a heart attack two weeks ago but managed to survive. Posting about it on Instagram, he  led off by thanking and praising God, writing, “Praising God for His amazing grace and loving mercy in saving my life this evening from a heart attack. I am so happy and honored to report that all is well.” He added, “So thankful for the medical team and staff at St. Joseph West in Lake St. Louis for responding so quickly and bringing me through a stent-procedure that has brought my heart to total restoration!!!” Concluding, he wrote, “Your prayers are so absolutely appreciated as I continue to recover, in Jesus Name! #savedbyHisgrace❤️❤️🫶🏾”

Now, he’s healed and praising the Lord for that as well. In his Instagram post, Strawberry spoke about the situation and faith, and captioned the video by saying, “During my first doctor’s appointment, my physician delivered some incredibly positive news. He assured both my wife and me that I am growing stronger and progressing in the right direction.”

Continuing, in the caption to the video, Mr. Strawberry wrote, “His happiness and satisfaction with my overall progress were evident. This uplifting news has filled us with hope and optimism for the future. Thanks to everyone for your kindness and prayers for us! We Love Y’all 🍓🍓”

In the video itself, Mr. Strawberry said, “Hello everyone, Darryl and my lovely wife, Tracy Strawberry here. We just coming back from the doctor first time, after the surgery, and getting a great report today. It was the most amazing report, the doctor said that I am headed in the right direction, that I’m getting stronger. That life is gonna be great for us. We just got to continue to do the right things. And I guess my wife, she’ll help me continue to do the right things. You know, he’s got to listen, sometimes, God will speak loudly sometimes.”

Tracy, chiming in, said, “We want to thank each and every one of you for all your continued prayers, your love and your support. It means so much to us words can’t even express. So thank you so much for the outpouring. It’s overwhelming to us. And we just want to continue to say thank you so much for your love, your care, your concern, your support and your prayers. It means everything to us, and prayer works.”

Concluding the video, Mr. Strawberry thanked those who prayed for him and helped him with their kindness, saying, “Thank you so much for your kindness and prayers for us. We love you guys. God bless you.” Watch him here:

Encouraging people to go to church in a recent speech, Mr. Strawberry said, “Being in church and learning to walk in faith with Jesus is essential for our spiritual growth and relationship with God. It is in the community of believers that we find support, encouragement, and accountability. Church provides a place for worship, fellowship, and the opportunity to learn and grow in our understanding of God’s Word.”

He added, “By actively participating in church, we become part of a larger body of believers, united in faith and committed to serving God and others. So, let us embrace the importance of being in church and learning to walk in faith with Jesus, for it is through this journey that we experience God’s love, grace, and peace in our lives.”
