The pro-Christian advocacy group, The Faith & Freedom Coalition (FFC), recently announced that it anticipates a “historic” turnout of Christian voters in the presidential election, which is just days away. The group had knocked on roughly 8 million doors ahead of the election rallying voters in swing states. FFC expects to have engaged with up to 18 million people by Election Day.
The organization put out a statement on Monday, which reads, “Today, the Faith & Freedom Coalition announced that its paid canvassers and volunteers have reached more than 8 million homes through their door-knocking efforts across key battleground states, surpassing their previous record from the 2020 election cycle and solidifying the organization as a leader in grassroots mobilization of voters of faith.”
The FFC founder and chairman, Ralph Reed, explained that he is confident that the efforts will yield 3-4 million voters compared to the last election cycle. Reed noted that given the tight race in the critical battleground states, the group’s activism could play a substantial role in the election.
“We are seeing unprecedented enthusiasm and intensity among our volunteers and the voters of faith with whom they are interacting. It is greater than we saw in 2016 or 2020,” Reed stated. “These voters are coming, and they are coming in historic numbers. That is more important than polls that replicate voter turnout models from past elections that may or may not apply in 2024. This election is effectively tied in every battleground state, and this kind of voter education and turnout operation could be the difference. The reports of the inadequacy of the conservative ground game in 2024 are greatly exaggerated.”
The statement continued, “Faith & Freedom has deployed 10,000 paid canvassers and volunteers this cycle. It is the largest deployment of personnel on the ground to turn out voters of faith in the organization’s history. The home visit program is designed to interact with low-propensity voters of faith and help them develop a plan to vote, with a push to vote early by mail or in person. In addition to its home visits, Faith & Freedom aims to complete 10 million volunteer get-out-the-vote calls, send 24 million GOTV text messages with a link to its voter guides, and distribute 30 million voter guides in more than 100,000 churches by the end of the 2024 cycle.”
Earlier in the summer, The Christian Tribune reported on comments from former President Donald Trump, rallying support from Christian voters. “Never again will the federal government be used to target Americans of faith,” Trump said in his remarks, vowing to protect religious freedoms. Trump has consistently campaigned for the Christian vote, a demographic that he leads Vice President Kamala Harris in.
“The radical left is trying to shame Christians, silence you, demoralize you and they want to keep you out of politics. They don’t want you to vote. That’s why you have to vote,” Trump emphasized. “If you vote, we cannot lose. They don’t want you to vote. But Christians cannot afford to sit on the sidelines. If Joe Biden gets in, Christianity will not be safe in a nation with no borders, no laws, no freedom, no future.”
