Shawn Carney, the founder of the national pro-life organization, “40 Days For Life,” recently sat down with Fox News Digital, where he discussed the “huge” victory President-elect Donald Trump sustained over Vice President Kamala Harris. After focusing her platform on abortion and other social issues that contradict traditional Christian values, Harris was the subject of substantial criticism among Christians.
“Well, I think the victory is huge for Catholic voters. I mean, Trump, handedly, won the Catholic vote,” Carney said. The pro-life activist claimed that Harris signaled to Catholic voters that she despised them. “Catholics. always got the impression from from really frank Biden Harris administration that they hate Catholics and they hate religion in general,” he continued.
“I mean, we see what they tolerated, in some cases, encouraged what happened to the Jews. We saw the DOJ target Catholics and target pro lifers, and you just got that sense that they they didn’t like or respect Catholics,” he added, highlighting deplorable actions toward the religious from the government. Carney expounded on the downfall of the Harris campaign among the Catholic vote, maintaining it all comes down to abortion.
He said, “It came down to abortion. When you look at the exit polling, the Catholic Church is adamantly against abortion. Kamala ran on abortion. She celebrated abortion. Her her campaign was depressing at best. And abortion is serious. Latinos are against abortion. Catholics are against abortion. And even the liberal Catholics who are going to, you know, vote Democrat who may tolerate abortion, they don’t know. They don’t want it shoved in their their throats, and they certainly don’t want abortion 40 weeks.”
Continuing, the activist called out the radical abortion policies that Democrats support. “They wanted to deny health care to a baby girl who commits some kind of crime surviving the abortion attempt on her life. They supported infanticide. They supported abortion in all 40 weeks. They demanded that you weren’t a real woman unless you judged your dignity based on your access to abortion. Very condescending,” he said.
“Very condescending. It was very elitist, as most of their rhetoric throughout the entire campaign, and they just talked down to people and election Catholics, you know, certainly included,” he added, further slamming the Harris campaign. “You just know when somebody thinks you’re stupid and irrelevant and they just have that that condescending tone that people were going to come out and vote for her because she supported abortion through all 40 weeks, there’s just not a more unnatural thing.”
Carney concluded, “I would say the onslaught of abortion not just towards Catholics, who obviously have a scientific position, also a moral position, but I think towards everyone, it just got rejected. It got rejected outright. And I think you’ll see the rhetoric change the Democratic Party got to listen to Planned Parenthood. Should probably listen to some common sense that people don’t want abortion too often. All 40 weeks they don’t want to go back to roe we had roadway, we’re in a category with North Korea, China, Canada, and Vietnam most Americans, a lot of people took debate, they thought, abortion was that her winner, and it failed miserably.”
