Pastor John MacArthur recently called out Vice President Kamala Harris after a controversial incident at one of her rallies in which two Christian protestors who were kicked out were seemingly mocked after they proclaimed “Christ is King” and “Jesus is Lord.”
MacArthur recounted the incident during a sermon at Grace Community Church this past Sunday alongside Jim Pfaff, president of The Conservative Caucus. “Somebody said ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and she immediately said you’re in the wrong place. What else do you need to know?” the pastor asked.
Pfaff then suggested, “Jesus is not Lord in that place?” MacArthur replied, “No, I’m not saying that Jesus is not Lord over the universe.” Calling out the Harris campaign’s stance on social issues and abortion, he added, ” I’m not saying that Jesus is more Lord over the Republicans, but I’m telling you He’s not there, not when you kill babies and mutilate children and destroy marriage.”
Discussing the two candidates in the fast-approaching election, MacArthur seemingly suggested that Trump may have personal shortcomings as a leader, but when looking at the overall impact he would have on society versus Kamala Harris the pastor noted that the choice is clear.
“You take the best of maybe not the best choices,” he said. “Who would do the most damage to the family? Who would do the most damage to children? Who would do the most damage to the culture? Who would do the most damage to morality? Who would put us in a most insecure and unsafe position when [the] government is designed to protect law-abiding people and punish evildoers?
The Christian Tribune previously reported on the incident, which has drawn backlash against Kamala Harris. Conservative activist Scott Presler shared a clip of the incident to X, writing, “Just spoke w/ the 2 Lacrosse University students, who were kicked out of Kamala’s Wisconsin rally for saying, “Jesus is Lord.” It’s real — it’s corroborated. Meet @lukepolaske & @GrantBeth4. They have a story to tell.”
“Thank you @ScottPresler for spreading our experience and simple message of Jesus is Lord. Three simple words can make a huge impact! It has blossomed into something much greater than @lukepolaske and I imagined. This is the most important election in history. God Bless America,” Grant Beth commented.
Fellow protestor Luke Polaske also shared an inspiring post on his X account, demonstrating his perseverance in the face of hostility. “Christianity is the most hated and persecuted religion in the world. I have seen this firsthand when my faith was mocked and insulted by the Vice President of the United States. I hope as Christians we do not compromise our morals to vote for a woman who does not care about our faith. We are in the midst of a spiritual warfare this election cycle,” he said.
He further stated, “With that being said, let’s not forget what we are taught to do as Christians. Christ tells us that if the world hates you, remember that it hated Him first. He tells us to love thy neighbor as thyself. He tells us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. In Jesus’ name, every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Because in the end, WE WIN.”
