Stacy Abrams Attacks Conservative Christians, Demands They Go Woke And Embrace Social Justice In Bizarre Interview

Twice-failed Democrat gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams attacked traditional Christians in a wild interview with the now recently-defunded NPR, telling the show’s interviewer she wanted Christians to become woke and embrace all of her party’s contemporary social justice issues such as welcoming hordes of illegal aliens and celebrating the LGBT agenda. She also didn’t rule out yet another run for governor.

For context, in a mid-July interview the perennial state-wide election loser Abrams told NPR she considered herself a true woman of faith and declared her own interpretation of the Bible and God’s message as true. In short, her vision of this ultra-progressive interpretation of Christianity that focuses solely on social justice-related causes.

Addressing her self-described faith and Christian values, Abrams pursued the common refrain among the woke left that interprets Christ’s message of love, acceptance, and helping others to mean the individual was absolved of such duties and merely compel others to participate vis-a-vis government force. It is this slight of hand that is so common in the progressive wing of Christianity, which misinterprets God’s call on individuals to become better people, not that they become better people by voting to steal from others and have their resources redistributed for the cause du jour of the political left.

“I cannot call myself a Christian and not believe that it is my responsibility to help the stranger, to help immigrants, to help the dispossessed,” Abrams said of this belief. “I cannot say that my faith justifies the venom that has been turned against the LGBTQIA community, the way we have demonized the transgender community. I cannot be a woman of faith who has read the Bible and just conveniently pick the passages I like.”

Continuing, Abrams said that her parents had instilled her progressive take on Christianity in her at a young age, telling Mosley, “I watched my parents live those values that education matters, that faith matters, and that helping people matters.” She added, “And for me, those are the values that guide me, my faith first and foremost.”

Moreover, Abrams stated that education “is a part” of her faith because, she argued, “I’m not expected to simply blindly behave.” She then stated, “The notion of free will exists because faith is when you have the information and you make the decision to do anyway, to do the things you need to do. And then ultimately, what ties it all together for me is the responsibility to serve others.”

Additionally, Abrams hinted at the possibility of a third run for office, saying, “I truly have not made any decisions and that is in part because there’s an urgency to 2025 that we cannot ignore.” She added, “My focus right now is on how do we ensure that we have free and fair elections in 2026? There’s a lot of hope being pinned on the ’26 midterms.”

The Democrat also went on to praise woke Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson for her recent dissents on rulings that uphold conservative values, saying, “She is telling us how we will end up where we are. But she’s also reminding us of why we are not there now.” She added, “So she understands that it is the responsibility of the judiciary, yes, it is to interpret the law, but you cannot interpret a law you do not believe has the right to exist.”
