Worcester Massachusetts is a highly progressive area. This week the city council met to discuss a proposed measure to designate the city a ‘sanctuary.’ For trans people. Woke activists took the opportunity to too theatrically address the council. Community members, many wearing outlandish costumes enraged the politicians.
The document proposed “that the City Council of the City of Worcester hereby reiterates its commitment to transgender rights and equal protections for transgender community members and declares itself a sanctuary city and a place of safety for transgender and gender diverse people.” One activist, who seems to be a priest of some variety, made a blasphemous suggestion.
“Using the language of my faith. Let me tell you this, the Jesus that I know would be right here in this gallery, lined up to speak during this public comment, standing in solidarity with the brave people here,” she said. ” That Jesus I know would be dressed in full drag, or [appearing as] a trans man, or wrapped in the garb of a nonbinary person who knows one gender is way too small to capture the gloriousness that is Jesus.”
“[He] would be at this mic with a trembling voice and a shaking body and tears that will not be held back crying ‘make this city safe for my child.’ Jesus always shows up on the side of the vulnerable, and today that is us,” she dramatically added.” Where are you going to show up on the side of the vulnerable and the marginalized, taking a stand against the evil coming out of Washington?”
“Or are you going to betray us? Had one park and the good people here urge you to use your power and your privilege in a righteous way, and to do your part to make this city a place where vulnerable and marginalized people can thrive,” she eventually concluded. “Tonight, please vote yes on 10 B and 14 B and on all the other equity issues you are discussing…in the name of Jesus, I thank you.”
Another flamboyantly dressed activist added, “I need the city to protect me because the federal government won’t. And if you think you’re afraid of Trump, you should see how afraid of Trump I am.” The protestor threateningly said, “If you say that you’re afraid of Trump, and that’s why you don’t want this city to be…a.. safe space for trans people. You better prepare for trans people to make this a very unsafe space.”
“I’m shaking right now. I don’t want to be here,” another activist added.”I do not want to be here. It’s my day off. I do not want to be in your DMS. I do not want to be in your email inboxes. I do not want my creativity writing diss tracks like Kendrick. I don’t want to spend an hour applying glitter on my face so that you will hear and see me. I want you to listen to me,” one of the crowd yelled.

“I speak as both the B and the T in the LGBT,” one commentator said. “I speak as someone who is always misgendered, like all the time. People refer to me as sir When I prefer to be referred to as ma’am. I speak as someone afraid to use public toilets. I speak as someone who is a member of this community and is a queer person.”
