Over the weekend, tens of thousands of Christians gathered at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California, for this year’s Harvest Crusade. The annual event, led by American evangelist and author Pastor Greg Laurie, features a star-studded lineup of famous Christian musicians. Laurie has hosted the event for nearly thirty years, bringing Christians together in Southern California.
On Saturday, the free event drew roughly 50,000 in-person attendees eager to worship. Reportedly, hundreds of thousands more joined an online stream of the event. Laurie shared a graphic on social media highlighting some of the major statistics of the event. Between in-person and online attendance, there was a total attendance of approximately a quarter of a million people.
Furthermore, the Harvest Crusade certainly succeeded in its evangelistic mission, bringing out 5,000 total professions of faith, 3,500 of which were in person and another 1,500 online. This year’s Harvest Crusade was undoubtedly a success and sets a high bar for next year’s worship and praise.
Pastor Laurie wrote in a social media post, “What a night! Angel Stadium was packed to capacity! 45,000 people filled the stadium. Thousands were not able to get in. Countless thousands more watched online around the world. The focus of the Harvest Crusade is calling people to Christ. So many responded to the invitation. I will give you numbers when I receive them, but thank you all for your prayers and support and as always, To God Be The Glory! People like to write California off. But God is not done with our state. The last great spiritual awakening, the Jesus Revolution started here. I pray it will happen here again!”
On the Harvest Crusade website the event was celebrated in a statement that read, “To God be the Glory!” It added, “Angel stadium was so full last night for the Harvest Crusade the Fire Marshall closed the doors. Despite this, people outside stayed and joined the worship. Amazing! You can watch the Crusade in its entirety on our YouTube channel. More information is coming in on online viewing and professions of faith. I can tell you this- 50,000 attended and over 3,500 made professions of faith! Let’s be praying for them that they would grow spiritually.”
The Christian Tribune previously reported on comments from famous actor Dennis Quaid who spoke alongside Pastor Laurie at the 2024 Harvest Crusade. The “Reagan” actor shared his testimony, divulging details about his “personal relationship” with Jesus Christ and how he came to faith.
“The most important thing is to be authentic,” Quaid said. “I’m a Christian. That’s who I am…I have a personal relationship with [Jesus].” He added, “I could feel right now in this big stadium — can’t you feel the Holy Spirit right here, right now?” he added.
