In shocking leaked footage, an employee at North Point Community Church advised pastors teaching 11-14-year-olds to “affirm” the gender identity of so-called “trans-children.” When the clip was posted to social media, conservatives were appalled by the video, which advocated for puberty blockers, neo-pronouns, and gender reassignment surgery.
For context, this is not North Point’s first brush with controversy. Several years ago, the church hosted the Unconditional Conference, which claimed to support the pastors and parents of LGBTQ+ children. The controversial conference featured speakers in same-sex relationships who talked about their experiences as queer Christians.
Beginning the bizarre video, the host said, “We know that if we create a safe place, more students will share things with us that are difficult to navigate. So, I want to talk through how we care for students who are experiencing gender dysphoria. Now, gender dysphoria, this is a weird term. We don’t hear it a lot. Basically, this is the clinical term used for anyone who’s unsure about their own gender. ”
Explaining the far left term, the speaker from North Point elaborated. He said, “Dysphoria is the opposite of euphoria. Euphoria is like joy, happiness, contentment, excitement over a situation. Gender Dysphoria is like they’re not comfortable, they don’t have joy over it. They’re not sure where they land. So this is the umbrella term for several different terms that could be underneath gender dysphoria. The terms transgender or non-binary are some sample terms that an adult might use to describe who they are if they’re trying to figure out their gender.”
In a chilling aside, the gender ideologue shared a specific example of a 5-year-old child transitioning. He said, “Their journey first started when their student was five years old, so it was before any of the middle school hormones of what’s going on could even take place. And these parents handled it so well and took every step so slowly…There were times they started using different pronouns at home, but only at home.
Still not done, he said, “Now, somewhere along the way, medical intervention started for this student, if we’re talking about something in middle school, more than likely medical injections are going to be about stopping puberty, as opposed to having a surgery that will probably come later in life, it would be just a matter of, hey, let’s slow down or stop puberty from even starting for this child.”
Reacting to Churches that won’t accept gender nonsense, he said, “Oh, my goodness, we cannot be the last place a student feels comfortable. That’s the opposite of our goal for church, which is to be the last place you feel comfortable talking about anything. But we’ve got to understand it’s a really, really long journey for these families.”

Concluding his sickening remarks, he said, “I mean, it’s years and years and years and years and years to make this change, in fact, is very difficult surgeries to go through later in life. In fact, there’s upper surgeries and bottom surgeries, and many people can go through the upper surgery, but the bottom surgeries are extremely invasive and sometimes don’t even work. And so it may not even happen be possibility for every person who wants to make this change so so knowing how long this journey really is, it’s important that we as staff, as small careers, care for these students.”
