Conservative Christian actor Dean Cain, best known for playing Superman in the ’90s TV series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, has announced that he joined Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) while urging others to do likewise in a video shared on social media, telling his fans that they can “earn great benefits and pay” by becoming agents themselves.
For background, on August 5, 2025, Christian actor Dean Cain posted a video online calling on his fans to follow his lead and join ICE, inviting them to take the opportunity to “defend your homeland” and focusing on the benefits provided by the agency, which reportedly include a $50,000 sign-on bonus. Cain, who described himself as a “sworn law enforcement officer,” said that he “voted for” ICE’s mission and wanted to support it himself.
In his video, Cain explained to his audience, “For those who don’t know, I am a sworn law enforcement officer, as well as being a filmmaker.” He continued, “I felt it was important to join with our first responders to help secure the safety of all Americans, not just talk about it. So I joined up, and here’s your opportunity to join ICE.”
Continuing, Cain said that anyone who joins ICE “can earn lots of great benefits and pay,” adding, “Yet, since President Trump took office, ICE has arrested hundreds of thousands of criminals, including terrorists…murderers…MS-13 gang members, drug traffickers, you name it — very dangerous people who are no longer on the streets.” Cain went on, “You can defend your homeland and get great benefits like a $50,000 signing bonus.”
In addition, the actor touted the agency’s other benefits, including “student loan repayment, legally enhanced retirement benefits, and special pay for those in the field operations and law enforcement roles.” He clarified, “I don’t get that special pay, but you also don’t need an undergraduate degree.” Cain added, “You can get to work right away.”
Concluding his video, Cain told his viewers, “So, if you want to help save America, ICE is arresting the worst of the worst and removing them from America’s streets. I like that.” He continued, “I voted for that, and they need your help. We need your help to protect our homeland and our families, so check into it, as I said, and join today if it’s something that tickles your fancy, because we can use you.”
After Cain posted his video, he received both support and criticism from commenters, with some making the case that Superman “would be disappointed” in Cain, to which the actor replied, “Not a chance.” On the other hand, a commenter with the handle BLC wrote, “I’m sending this to my son in law. He was a correctional officer for our local prison, had training through the police academy and is a security officer for the psychiatric floor for our local hospital.”
Furthermore, on July 9, 2025, Cain made the news when he criticized the recent reboot of Superman for being “woke,” saying, “How woke is Hollywood going to make this character?” He added, “Why are they going to change these characters [to] exist for the times? For Superman, it was ‘truth, justice, and the American way.’ Well, they dropped that… They came up with ‘truth, justice, and a better tomorrow.’” Cain continued, “Changing beloved characters, I don’t think, is a great idea. If you want to create a new character, go ahead and do that.”
