WATCH: Elon Musk Says He is a “Big Believer in the Principles of Christianity”

Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk recently sat down for an interview with Dr. Jordan B. Peterson. In the interview, the Tesla CEO discussed his views on religion, particularly Christianity. Musk professed that he identifies as a “cultural Christian” and is a “big believer in the principles of Christianity.”

Musk further maintained that he is “not a particularly religious person,” but he subscribes to the teaching of Jesus Christ. However, the multi-company CEO does not believe in Christ’s deity or his salvific crucifixion and subsequent resurrection to forgive humanity’s sins.

“While I’m not a particularly religious person, I do believe that the teachings of Jesus are good and wise, and that there’s tremendous wisdom in turning the other cheek,” Musk said. “This notion of forgiveness is important. I think it’s essential because if you don’t forgive, I forget who said it, but ‘an eye for an eye makes everyone blind.  So I’m a big believer in the principles of Christianity.”

“So in what sense then are you not religious?” Peterson asked Musk. “So [Richard] Dawkins just came out … and announced he’s a cultural Christian.” “Right,” Musk answered. “I would say I’m probably a cultural Christian. I was brought up Anglican and I was baptized.” Musk continued, “There’s an argument that when a culture loses its religion, it starts to become anti-natalist and decline in numbers and potentially disappear.”

At another point during the interview Musk addressed his grievances with the “woke mind virus.” After one of his sons, Xavier, was put on puberty blockers several years ago, Musk made it his mission to fight left-wing progressive ideology.  “I was essentially tricked into signing documents for one of my older boys, Xavier. This was really before I had any understanding of what was going on, and we had COVID going on, so there was a lot of confusion. And I was told Xavier might commit suicide,” he said.

Musk continued, “I lost my son, essentially.  They call it ‘deadnaming’ for a reason. The reason they call it ‘deadnaming’ is because your son is dead, so my son, Xavier, is dead, killed by the woke mind virus.” He added, “So I vowed to destroy the woke mind virus after that,” said Musk. “And we’re making some progress.”

Late last year, Musk also demonstrated his proclivity toward cultural Christianity when responding to rapper and social media influencer, Zuby, on X.  I don’t think I’ve ever said this publicly and directly but I think the West is absolutely screwed if it loses Christianity. Explaining this in full would require an entire book. But I’ve thought about it a lot over the years and reached this conclusion. It’s like removing the foundations of a building but pridefully expecting it to remain standing forever… All while enemies both inside and outside are trying to knock the building over,” he wrote.  Musk succinctly responded in the comments section, “I think you’re probably right.”
