In an interview with Newsmax, Tom Homan, who Trump has charged with ending the immigration crisis, stuck back at Woke Pope Francis. The Pope issued a statement where he said that Trump’s plan to deport illegal immigrants from the United States is a “disgrace.” In an appearance on Italian national television last week, the Pope said that Mr. Trump’s deportation plan “is not the way to solve things.”
At the beginning of the viral clip, reporter Rob Schmitt asked Homan, “I want to ask one final question. The Pope this week said that it’s a disgrace what we’re now doing with this new government, deporting all of these people we’ve got, you know. Obviously there’s, there’s going to be a lot of media searching for the sad stories here, trying to turn public opinion against this operation.”
He asked Homan, ” What’s your message to the American people, as you guys do this work?” Homan gave a firey response to the Pontiff. He ” I’m a lifelong Catholic. I was born Catholic. I’ve been through Catholic doctrine, but he only concentrates on the Catholic Church. First of all, he’s got big problems there in the Vatican.” “They have a wall around the Vatican. If you enter the Vatican just the crime is serious, you’ll be charged with serious crime [and end up] in jail. ”
He skewered the woke Pope’s hypocrisy: “So he can protect the Vatican where he lives. He can build a wall where he lives, where American people are not allowed. ” The border Tsar gave a strong moral argument for why he wants to secure the border: “Securing the border saves lives.” Homan added that there are real costs to the human smuggling that brings many illegals to our nation.
“He needs to understand that we secure the border so that people come. Less women get cartel by the cartel, less children die in the river, less Americans die from fentanyl overdose” he said. Homan added that the Pope has more pressing issues to worry about than illegal immigration into America. He replied, “He out to stick to the Catholic Church. That’s a mess.”
Schmitt replied, “That’s exactly right. And we did [a story on] … the wall that’s around the Vatican, and it’s even nicer than Trump’s wall. For as much as Trump likes his wall, the wall around the Vatican is really, impressive.” In the Pope’s original statement, he said, “This isn’t right. This is not the way to solve things.” He added, “I find it greatly disheartening to see that migration is still shrouded in a dark cloud of mistrust rather than being seen as a source of empowerment.”
In a separate message on January 9, Francis announced that migrants should not be treated as a “problem to be managed” but should be “welcomed” for their skills and aspirations.“People on the move are seen simply as a problem to be managed,” he insisted adding that they should not be “treated like objects to be moved about.” He said, that migrants “have dignity and resources that they can offer to others.”

The woke pontiff stated “They have their own experiences, needs, fears, aspirations, dreams, skills, and talents.” Francis says nations need to create “safe, regular pathways” for immigrants. In the interview, both men mention the increased efforts the Vatican has devoted to securing their own border. In a recent announcement, people who “enter the territory of Vatican City State with violence, threat, or deception will be punished with imprisonment from one year to four years and a fine from €10,000.00 to €25,000.00.”
