Russell Brand recently appeared alongside Tucker Carlson at an event in Phoenix, Arizona, where the famous actor prayed against the “dark and demonic forces” that reside within the United States government and corporate America. Earlier this year, Brand gave his life to Christ and has been outspoken about his faith following his baptism.
While speaking onstage with Carlson in the first stop of the former Fox News host’s national tour, Brand highlighted his Christian faith and how it has changed his outlook on everything. At the conclusion of the event, Carlson asked if Brand would be interested in closing with a prayer. “We haven’t talked about this — and I mean this in the most open possible way, not everyone’s going to share your beliefs or my beliefs — but would you close in prayer?” Carlson asked the actor.
Brand began his prayer, “I call on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, our heavenly Savior. Lord, I humbly [ask] in this great congregation in Phoenix, Arizona, with my host, Tucker Carlson, in deference to him, but in ultimate deference to you, our Lord and Savior, to whom we are all your younger siblings and your children.”
The actor continued asking God to deliver America from the spiritual darkness it has been plagued with. “I pray in your name that the forthcoming election be an opportunity for unity, for America and for Americans, for forgiveness and for grace; that the dark and demonic forces that appear to operate at the level of the state — the deep state and the corporate and global world — experience your light, Lord,” he said.
Brand further petitioned God to guide everyone in their speech in a manner that honors God and allows the individual to experience His grace. Brand asked that the Lord “guide all of our tongues and all of our words and all of our hearts, that we feel your forgiveness and that we feel your grace.”
“Thank you, Lord, for the many gifts that you have bestowed upon us,” he said, offering thanks to God for everything we have to be grateful for. “Thank you for the glory of consciousness itself, in which we can experience you and live you. Thank you for the beauty of nature, in which we see your wisdom and your creativity and your infinite glory.” “But in your holy name, we are forgiven by your act of redemption. By your sacrifice in your name, we pray. Amen,” he concluded, leading to a roaring applause from the audience.
The Christian Tribune recently reported on other comments from Russell Brand about his faith in which he noted that the more he prays, “the more coincidences happen.” Brand said, ” “Yesterday, we prayed about allowing Christ to knock on the door of your heart and saying, Christ, if you are there, I open the door of my heart to you. Today, when I looked at the Bible, it said the famous William Temple quote must always be considered that the more I pray, the more coincidences seem to happen. Coincidences are created by prayer, a kind of sacred synergy, you might call it.”
