HUD Secretary Scott Turner made headlines in early March with an appearance and prayer at the LA Dream Center, a refuge right now for so many people afflicted by the deadly, devastating fires that ravaged the area. Turner’s prayer was captured on camera and the size of the gathering was as impressive as his words.
“We thank you that the Spirit of God rest in this place. God. We thank you for the leadership. We thank you for all of those who call this place home. And Father, I’m praying for your favor. I’m praying for your grace, Lord. We pray for transformation in the lives of everyone who comes to the doors of this godly place,” Turner opens.
“And Father, we pray, Lord, God, the enemy is not welcome here. Come on. We find the lies of the devil. Yes, God, we bind the lies of the enemy. Father, God, I pray that the promises of your word, we say they are yes and amen and every woman in this place. And God, we thank you right now that we can worship you together. You’re a good, good father. We thank You,” he continued.
Turner finished by praising the Lord his God and His only Son. “Lord, I pray Father God in the days ahead that you would do exceedingly above and above. Yes, Father, we can ask for a matter according to your power in Christ, Jesus, Lord, we believe you. We trust you. We declare it in Jesus name, because your word is true and it is the final authority in our life. In Jesus name, everybody say, Amen. All my life, all my life, you have been so, so good. Every breath. With every breath, I will sing, and I will sing of the goodness of God, my life, my breath, in faith.”

As The Christian Tribune previously reported, Turner is a former associate pastor at a Baptist church in Plano, Texas. He was asked by President Trump to open the administration’s first cabinet meeting with prayer, an act some commenters couldn’t ever remember seeing happen before. That moment went rightfully viral
“Father God, thank You for anointing us to do this job,” Turner prayed in that late-February meeting. “Father, we pray You will give the President and the Vice President wisdom, Father God, as they lead. Father, I pray for all of my colleagues that are here around the table and in this room. Lord God, we pray that we would lead with a righteous clarity, Father God, that as we serve the people of this country in every perspective, agency, every job that we have…”
“The Bible says the Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord. But Father, we today honor You and in Your rightful place, Father, thank You for giving us this opportunity to restore faith in this country and be a blessing to the people of America and Lord God. Today in our meeting, we pray that You will be glorified in our conversation in Jesus name. Amen,” he finished.
