In a controversial appearance on The Holy Post Podcast, Bri Stensrud, who works for an immigration NGO that receives millions of taxpayer dollars, falsely claimed that 90% of fentanyl smugglers across the US border are toxic “White males.” Building on that point, she cynically used the Bible to support her woke open borders agenda and criticise Trump supporters.
For context, Christianity has been rocked by controversy over illegal immigration, and many progressive activists have used biblical language to argue for far-left open-borders insanity. On the other hand, many traditional Christians recognize that while migrants should not be mistreated, common-sense border security is vital to a safe and prosperous nation.
The conservative argument, was expressed well by Vice President JD Vance who said “There’s this old school, and I think it’s a very Christian concept, by the way, that you love your family, and then you love your neighbor, and then you love your community, and then you love your fellow citizens in your own country. And then after that, you can focus and prioritize the rest of the world. A lot of the far left has completely inverted that they seem to hate the citizens of their own country and care more about people outside their own borders.”
In any case, the woke Bri Stensrud began her April 4, 2025, interview by repeating baseless lies about immigration. She said, “90% of fentanyl is actually smuggled through legal ports of entry on the backs of white males on the average age of 34, and so it’s actually Americans who are funneling this through our own ports of entry, because they don’t get screened and scrutinized as much as migrants.”
Later in the interview, she made even more outrageous claims. She inexplicably pivoted to a discussion of the murder of Laken Riley. She said, “Laken Riley situations happen. They’re very rare, but they do happen. And it makes no sense to me to quote a bunch of stats at somebody who is afraid about a Lanken [sic] Riley situation.”
Continuing, she claimed that illegal immigrants are not a source of crime. Stensrud said, “It would be insincere of me to say to Lanken [sic] Riley’s parents, “Well, you know what? Foreign-born citizens, documented or undocumented, they actually commit drastically lower levels of violent crime than native-born citizens, like at 60% drastically lower.” That does nothing for them. Their daughter is gone, and a community is reeling.”

Concluding her bizarre rant, she seemingly softened her argument. Stensrud added, “So I have to grieve with Lanken [sic] Riley’s folks and her community and say, ‘That never should have happened. The system is broken.’ I don’t throw stats at her. But even though I know the stats are on my side, that’s not helpful.”
In response to the insane argument, conservatives took to the comments to express their opinions. One comment joked, “19.9%. 90%. As Hillary would say, what difference does it make?” Another added, “I’m not sure what the fact that most comes through legal ports of entry is supposed to do for their argument either. It means illegal activity happens at legal sites, and so policing of crossings should be more vigilant there also (which no immigration restrictionists disagree with).”
