Woke Media Gets Obliterated After Trying To Justify Economic Contributions Of Minnesota Somalis

Local media reporting attempting to provide cover for the Somali crime rings in Minnesota failed spectacularly as social media commentators rushed in with common sense to highlight the absurdity of the situation. Leading the charge with basic math was the Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh, but countless others joined in.

For context, the Somali population in Minnesota has been the epicenter of a national debate over immigration. Somalis in that state of been accused of defrauding the state out of billions of dollars in schemes in a host of scams. In one egregious example, a group falsified records during the pandemic for reimbursements to the tune of $250 million for meals that were never delivered. In another, they diagnosed on paper thousands of kids with autism to receive medical aid reimbursements.

In response, President Trump has repeatedly called for their return to Somalia and has been outspoken in his general disgust with the ingratitude, complaining, and crime brought by this culture. He said as a whole the community only takes and doesn’t give.

“I hear…Somalians, ripped off that state for billions of dollars, billions every year, billions of dollars. And they contribute nothing. The welfare is like 88% they contribute nothing. I don’t want them in our country. I’ll be honest with you, okay, somebody say, Oh, that’s not politically correct. I don’t care. I don’t want them in our country,” he said in one press conference.

Naturally, then, woke journalists and lib do-gooders have tried defending the presence of nearly 100,000 Somali immigrants in Minnesota as contributing something positive. “Somali Minnesotans generate at least $500 million in income annually and pay about $67 million in state and local taxes,” headlined a viral tweet from KTSP 5.

Instantly, the math wasn’t mathing. “Oh so what you’re saying is that the amount they pay in taxes is VASTLY outweighed by how much they take through welfare, fraud, and theft? Great point, thanks,” the aforementioned Walsh replied.

“There are around 80 thousand Somalians in Minnesota. If they contribute 67 million dollars in state and local taxes, that means they each pay on average about 800 bucks or so. To put that in perspective, the average Minnesotan pays anywhere from 8 to 10 THOUSAND in state and local taxes. Which means Somalians are contributing more than 10 times less, to say nothing about the billions of dollars in fraud. The media is trying to make the point that Somalians contribute to the economy but instead they’ve proved exactly the opposite,” he said in a second post.

Minnesota-based social media commentator Dustin Grage also weighed in. “Minnesota Somali population: Poverty: 58% Food Stamps: 42% Unemployed: 40% No High School Education: 41% Billions in fraud waste and abuse…,” he wrote underneath the original post.

“So they paid 67 million in taxes, but defrauded the government by over one billion dollars?” pointed out another, with another user adding: “They cost more to the tax payer & the billions they send out of the country in remittances. That they are a net negative on the tax payer. About 50% in poverty and 2/3 qualifying for gov housing they are hurting the economy and culture of the state. Your math ain’t mathin.”
