In a post on social media, Pastor Jordan B. Boyd attacked the government after Trump allowed ICE agents to make arrests in so-called ‘sanctuary cities.’ The pastor went on a dramatic rant where he compared modern-day sanctuary cities to those found in scripture. Online commenters pounced on the woke pastor and mocked him for his theatrics.
“The federal government has asked the states to help with this deportation activity and attached to it to an unwillingness by any city or state to participate a withholding of funds to so-called sanctuary cities,” he began with more passion than grammar. ” And in case you were wondering, Charlotte is a sanctuary city.” Boyd then pivoted to a scriptural example.
“It’s not an official government term; sanctuary city is actually a biblical term; if you look in Numbers, chapter 35, in the building of the cities, God told Israel that they had to build six sanctuary cities,” the pastor added. ” And a sanctuary city is simply a place for people who are in danger. In fact, in the Bible is described as a city where a person who has committed a murder.”
“Murder is described as one that was done intentionally or unintentionally, but either way, they were granted the refuge of a sanctuary city that they could go to and stay until such time justice could be administered, and in the process of their staying, they could live as a normal person,” Boyd ranted. “Charlotte is a sanctuary city, and a sanctuary city is ones who are those that designate themselves refusing to act on an order by the federal government to deport people for any reason, and so now ICE agents are targeting bus stops to capture parents while they’re with the children to take them back.”
He then pivoted to discussing gender. “It rescinded the bill protecting women from gender ideology and extremism, and so now there’s only one designation to effectively describe men or women as male or female, regardless of where you are on this issue, I believe that all human rights, all humans, deserve rights to be human
and to be recognized as such, even if we don’t understand it.”
“What does that mean? Well, what it means is, is that there’s only now men or women,” he concluded. “So in prisons, you have only men or women, and so they’re in shelters, there’s only men or women. And so if you’re transgender, or intersex or binary, then you, you’re you’re not permitted to enter into these places. Despite the Supreme Court ruling that says, you do have that right.”

Online commentators were quick to pounce on the woke preacher. “Sick how these “pastors” continue to back lawless, sinful activities so that Demoncratic $$$ can continue to flow into their pockets,” one user replied. “At this point, I think AME stands for Another Mistaken Evangelist,” another commenter joked. This type of theatrical display is typical of woke mainline churches. Many pastors, Jordan B. Boyd included, seem more worried about scoring political points than the gospel.
