Woke Sanctuary City Mayor Completely Melts Down Amid Likelihood That He Is Losing Storied NFL Franchise

The largely inept woke mayor of Chicago lashed out as real-life conflicted with his child-like socialist worldview as one of the most storied NFL franchises, bearing the namesake of the Windy City, advanced proposals to relocate from the crime-ridden, high-tax locale of downtown Chicago while eyeing a more business- and fan-friendly complex across state lines in Indiana.

For context, the privately-owned Chicago Bears are managed by the McCaskey family, who are rich in equity but short on liquidity as many other prominent sports teams owners are. The Chicago natives have always sought solutions to remain in their beloved hometown, but Democrat mismanagement has gotten so out of hand, particularly as it relates to their obsession over taxing the rich and corporations, that they have explored moving both within Illinois – such as Arlington Heights – and now out of state – such as Hammond, Indiana.

In one of many public responses, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson was asked at a press conference about the escalating possibility of the NFL’s Bears leaving his city, and rather than confront the issue head-on, he deflected with whining and non sequiturs.

“Is my face straight? Okay, alright. Keep a straight face here,” he began, heavily emoting. “The Bears belong in the city of Chicago. The Chicago Bears belong in the city of Chicago, right? And I’ve said repeatedly that the door is always open for conversations, you know. And you know, you know, Kevin Warren did call me yesterday. We didn’t get a chance to connect, you know, and I still firmly believe that their best position is in Chicago, and it’s evidence – the evidence is clearly speaking for itself,” he finished.

Likewise ignoring the facts on the ground, in a post to social media the woke mayor made the issue of relocation a class-warfare commentary, unable to grasp how taxation works at the corporate level. “At a time in which everyday people are on the verge of losing their homes, it doesn’t make any sense to provide property tax relief to a corporation that already doesn’t pay any property taxes just so they can leave Chicago,” he wrote.

Acting Labor Secretary for the Trump administration appeared on Fox News to explain how and why the Bears were unfortunately exploring the very real possibility of leaving Chicago. “They’re going to a state that has less regulation and higher wages, and you know that’s what you look at there, and obviously this is an employment issue,” Keith Sonderling said. “I could take everything back to to our world, and those are going to be high paying jobs, not only for constructing a stadium in Indiana under Governor Braun’s leadership, they’re leaving Illinois, so as we continue to see the Democrat states over regulate, have more taxes, have employment laws that are impossible to comply with. It’s just going to continue to drive those workers out of the states.”

Adding to that, Governor Mike Braun of Indiana reminded viewers that the Bears have been advocating for years to remain in Illinois but have been consistently rebuffed. Worth noting is that the state legislature recently voted against providing any tax incentives to the team.

“Well, it’s a big win, and when you look at the time that this has been kind of flowing through, it was five and a half, six years ago that they actually, the Bears organization reached out to their own state, City of Chicago, and really got no reaction,” Governor Braun explained.

“Picked it up again about three years ago, and it was slow go again. And then we get the call six months ago, and we knew that the clock was now coming into play. Their lease doesn’t expire until 2033 but when you’re building a big world-class stadium with all the mixed-use investment around it, you got to plan ahead, and we moved at the speed of business, and you heard earlier about the difference between a state that runs like ours, we get the lowest unemployment rate in the Midwest, economy growing twice as fast as Illinois,” he continued.

“It has been easy for them to see what it’s like. Where would you want to spend the next 50 years? Place that doesn’t listen to you for five and a half years, or a place that moves, wants you. It’s going to be a good deal for both them and us,” he finished. Watch Sonderling and Braun lay out their case below:
