Woke Senate Candidate James Talarico Calls Transgender Children ‘Sacred’, Says Republicans Engage in ‘Special Kind Of Sin’ Denying Their Identity

James Talarico, who swept to a surprising Democrat Senate primary victory in Texas over Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett, finds himself embroiled in controversy after controversy for publicly declaring his own Christian faith while pitting those said beliefs against what is seen as more traditional and conservative views.

For context, Talarico is a current state legislator in Texas representing the Austin area. He has served in that capacity for nearly a decade, having won the seat in 2018 at the age of just 28, which at the time made him the youngest state legislator in all of Texas. He went up against Jasmine Crockett in the Senate primary contest, someone whom President Trump has repeatedly bashed as ‘low IQ,’ and whose own House seat was disappeared by Texas Republicans after a successful redistricting effort.

The same progressive credentials and woke speak that carried him to victory are simultaneously drawing the ire of the other half of the country who see the now-Democrat Senate candidate (going up against either Ken Paxton or incumbent John Cornyn, at date of publication) as a wolf in sheep’s clothing horrendously misinterpreting, or worse, intentionally redefining, several basic biblical tenets.

As one such example, Talarico once stood on the Texas House floor and condemned Republicans for promoting legislation aimed at protecting children from physical and chemical treatments in the name of transgenderism. In his screed, he castigated Republican Christians ‘who used scripture to justify hurting children.’

“In committee, I listened to 15 hours of testimony on this bill. The worst part for me was the number of Christians who used scripture to justify hurting children. Even on this floor today, a member tried to justify a hateful amendment in the name of God’s law. So let’s talk about that,” the smooth-talking Talarico begins in the now-viral clip.

“The first two lines of the Bible, the first two lines in Genesis, use two different Hebrew words to describe God. One is the masculine Hebrew noun for divinity. The second is the feminine, Hebrew, noun for Spirit. God is both masculine and feminine, and everything in between. God is non binary. In Genesis, 126 God speaks of God’s self in the plural, saying, Let us make human beings in our image to be like us,” he continues.

“That’s the infinite multitude of God, the masculine, the feminine, and everything in between. Trans children are God’s children made in God’s own image. There’s nothing wrong with them, nothing at all. They are perfect. They are beautiful and they are sacred. Bullying children is immoral. It’s a sin, a special kind of sin,” he finishes. Watch that entire spectacle below:

Aside from using the Bible to not just defend, but promote, the idea of transgenderism in general and applying procedures to minors in particularly, Talarico has at other times likewise gone on the offensive against his Republican colleagues in Texas for their supposed lacking Christian values and beliefs, suggesting his woke Democrat colleagues of differing religious backgrounds were actually ‘more Christ-like’ than even them.

As the Christian Tribune previously wrote, Talarico said his non-Christian Democrat acquaintances were more equipped to advance Christianity than the actual Christian conservatives in the Texas legislature. “I have met so many Hindus, Buddhists, Sikh, Jews, Muslims, Atheists, Agnostics who are more Christ-like than some of the Christians I served with in the Texas legislature,” he astoundingly declared in a podcast.
