Freshman MAGA Representative Brandon Gill tore into Texas’ Democrat Senate candidate for resurfaced remarks in which he criticized Christianity while celebrating other religions, such as Islam, despite calling himself a Christian. Gill blasted the woke Democrat as a ‘fraud.’
For context, James Talarico defeated perennial headline-grabber Jasmine Crockett in their party’s state primary. Crockett’s House seat had been dissolved after Republican Governor Greg Abbott redistricted the Lone Star State and she clung to the idea that her antics were popular outside of Houston. Talarico, for all of his baggage, comfortably beat Crockett by more than 6 points and garnering over half of all votes.
Like Crockett, Talarico is no stranger to uttering absolute absurdities and taking over the news cycle. The Christian Tribune has covered his campaign and past remarks extensively. Among other atrocious admissions, Talarico famously declared that “I always think of myself as a Christian who hates Christianity.”
Representative Gill was reacting to another clip shared widely on social media in which the woke Democrat praised author Salman Rushdie and Islamic traditions. “I know personally that I’ve I’ve learned as much about my faith from Salman’s tradition, from the Islamic mystics, from poets like Rumi, as much as I have from from Christian authors and Christian writers,” he can be heard saying.
Gill posted his comments directly above the original audio, saying: “I can’t say that I’ve ever met a Christian who openly admits to hating Christianity and all of its teachings, yet tells us that they love Islam. That’s because, like most leftists, Talarico is simply a fraud who believes in nothing.”
In another resurfaced clip, Talarico was caught defending every faith as pretty much equal to one another in what they accomplish. Again, this was coming from a supposed Christian. “And I find such wisdom and comfort and inspiration from faith traditions all over the world, and I find that they’re all kind of an equal pathways to truth, you know. That’s how I think, you know, I always think of all of the world’s faith traditions as like a circle with, you know, that divine mystery of the universe in the middle, and we all have different names for that mystery, right?” he said.
“Whether it’s God or Yahweh or Allah or Nirvana, the great spirit, whatever you call it, this is all you know, different pathways to the same kind of fundamental truth of reality. So, yeah, t’s something I’m, it’s how I try to stay grounded and stay rooted,” he finishes.
Users to Gill’s post shared a similar sentiment. “Yea that guy is a fraud. He is exactly the kind of “Christian” the Bible explicitly warns us about. I’d run like the wind away from him in a lightning storm,” one commenter replied. “I have serious questions regarding Talarico’s seminary. Did he even attend? What in the hell are the teachings?
