In a post on social media, Pastor Kenneth Miller attacked America after Trump slashed funding to USAID. The pastor went on a dramatic rant where he compared ending foreign aid to several historic tragedies. The dramatic rant is just one of dozens of rants progressive pastors have made against the president. Online commenters pounced on the woke pastor and mocked him for his theatrics.
“We have witnessed for decades now. We have witnessed this country constantly attack the vulnerable,” Miller began. ” Some of you witnessed it right here in Oakland when the FBI and the CIA plotted to have Black Panthers leaders and members killed and falsely convicted of crimes. We are witnessing it right now as people are trying and are rolling back affirmative action and DEI.”
“The attack on USAID is now going to affect our brothers and sisters in South Africa, who for centuries have been robbed of their land and lived through apartheid and color colonialism now their livelihood is in jeopardy due to misinformation and new ways of apartheid,” he added. “Meanwhile, I believe this [trend] runs deeper than … South South Africans being mistreated.”
“There is a hidden agenda, like there is a hidden agenda behind the United straight stance on the Gaza Strip, if Israel isn’t careful, these United States are really trying to own Israel,” he dramatically preached. ” Now, if you don’t believe me, look at the history of white America. It has always took from others. It took from our black insistence, when they took us from Africa, and brought us to these United States.”
Pastor Kenneth Miller is no stranger to progressive activism. According to his bio, “During those years at Elias Cottrell, he studied sermon preparation, C.M.E. polity, and black theology, and he grew as a pastor and preacher.” It explains how, ” In December 2021, Pastor Miller completed a Master of Divinity degree from Memphis Theology Seminary. Now, he is pursuing his Doctor in Ministry degree in Community Witness and Social Justice.”
The reaction online was highly negative. “Not getting free handouts from a foreign country that has nothing to do with you is Apartheid? This is entitlement on an internationally epic level,” one account noticed. “You are being completely disingenuous. I feel sorry for your congregation. USA ID must be shut down. They’re stealing money from taxpayers as many of which you lecture every Sunday and maybe every Wednesday also,” another user reacted.
Miller is far from original. Other pastors have spent the last few weeks in embarrassing theatrics. In a dramatic sermon, Rev. Philip Price decried the defunding of USAID. “I’m worried. USAID has been gutted. It had 10,000 employees carrying the light of this nation to dark corners around the world, “he began. ” It shone through Republican administrations and Democrat administrations. It wasn’t seen as partisan. It was seen by both parties as that light that America shined. Right now, babies will be born with AIDS because the supplies of medications have been choked and are no longer available.”

“The Shining City on a Hill has apparently turned off the lights,” he quipped. “I’m aware of people who came to this country out of situations of choking aspiration…They might have heard of a lady in New York Harbor who holds high a torch and lights their way to this land of liberty and opportunity. At her feet are broken chains,” the pastor added.
